LCCI (Elementary, Intermediate, Higher)

The Accounting courses of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) are globally recognized certifications in Cyprus that build a strong foundation in Accounting and prepare students for further studies and professional advancement. The LCCI qualifications are included in the public service schemes of the Republic of Cyprus for purposes of grading and promotion. The program starts with fundamental concepts (LCCI Level 1 – Elementary) and progresses to more advanced skills (LCCI Level 2 – Intermediate, LCCI Level 3 – Higher), giving students a competitive advantage from an early age. The LCCI courses cover and exceed the syllabus taught in high schools.

LCCI Level 1: Gymnasium C'-Lyceum A'
LCCI Level 2: Lyceum A'-Β’
LCCI Level 3: Lyceum B'-C’

Duration: 9 months (September–May) for each level

Lesson Frequency:
Elementary once a week x 2 hours
Intermediate-Higher twice a week x 1.5 hour

LCCI Level 1
Certificate in Book - Keeping

The first level of the LCCI exams, Level 1 – Certificate in Bookkeeping (Elementary), is the ideal introduction to Accounting. Students gain fundamental knowledge and skills in bookkeeping, mastering the basic principles of the double-entry system for recording transactions and preparing simple financial statements. These skills form the foundation for all subsequent stages of accounting studies.

The ideal age to begin LCCI Level 1 is during the 3rd year of Gymnasium. At this stage:

  • The course serves as guidance for choosing a high school direction, especially for those interested in the Economic or Commercial stream.
  • Obtaining an internationally recognized certificate from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) enhances a student’s CV from an early age and paves the way for the next levels (Level 2 and Level 3).
  • Students gain an early advantage, entering high school with solid accounting foundations.

This is a gradual and accessible start that helps students build confidence and discover whether they want to continue in the field of Accounting and Finance. Our primary goal at this level is to help students develop a genuine interest and love for Accounting!

LCCI Level 2
Certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounts

In LCCI Level 2 (Intermediate), students progress to more advanced concepts such as:

  • Final Accounts for different types of businesses (LTD Companies, Partnerships, NPOs, Manufacturing Businesses)
  • Year-end Adjustments (Accruals/Prepayments, Depreciation, Doubtful Debts)
  • Performance Evaluation (Ratio Analysis) through the study and analysis of results

Upon completing Level 2, students cover and exceed the school curriculum up to the end of the 2nd year of Lyceum, gaining:

  • Better performance and higher grades in tests and exams
  • Strong foundations for the Pancyprian Exams
  • More free time for other subjects or activities
  • Confidence and certainty in Accounting

Level 2 is the stage where students acquire essential knowledge that supports them throughout high school and in their future academic or professional studies.

LCCI Level 3
Advanced Certificate in Accounting

LCCI Level 3 (Higher) is the most advanced stage of the series and is designed for students who have successfully completed Level 2. At this level, students explore accounting concepts in depth and develop skills that go well beyond the school curriculum.

Key topics include:

  • Adjusted Trial Balance
  • Final Accounts for publication, including Group Accounts
  • Budgets (preparation and analysis)
  • Investment Appraisal (investment evaluation techniques)
  • Ratio Analysis & Interpretation of Financial Statements

With Level 3, students:

  • Become familiar with concepts that form the foundation of university and professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Earn an internationally recognized certificate that stands out on their CV
  • Develop analytical and critical thinking skills that support them in any academic or professional path

LCCI Level 3 is the culmination of the learning journey, serving as a true springboard for university studies in Cyprus, Greece, or abroad, as well as for professional qualifications in Accounting and Finance.

Important Note

The LCCI diplomas issued by IAB are the only Accounting Certificates officially recognized by the Government of the Republic of Cyprus. They are included in public service schemes for recruitment or promotion, as well as in the point-based evaluation system for positions in governmental and semi-governmental organizations.

Accounting Pancyprian Exams

Our preparation for the Pancyprian Exams in Accounting focuses on enhancing students’ understanding of the Accounting curriculum in the 2nd and 3rd years of Lyceum, reducing the burden of homework through targeted teaching, and developing methodology and analytical thinking beyond simple exercise solving. This approach helps students gain deeper knowledge, better organization, and confidence during exams. The program fully covers the official school syllabus, combines theory with practical application, and places strong emphasis on systematic practice using past exam papers. Our goal is to ensure both high performance and genuine understanding.

Economics Pancyprian Exams

Our preparation for the Pancyprian Exams in Economics focuses not only on exam success but also on strengthening students’ overall school performance. Through systematic and targeted teaching, students gain a deep understanding of fundamental economic principles, analyze key concepts such as markets, supply, and demand, and build solid foundations for future studies. The program thoroughly covers the required syllabus, enhances theoretical comprehension, and places strong emphasis on practical application through past exam questions. IGCSE Accounting

The IGCSE in Accounting (IGCSE 9-1 Accounting) is an international qualification recognized by universities and employers worldwide. It is designed for students who wish to build a strong foundation in accounting, enhance their critical thinking skills, and gain a significant advantage for future studies abroad.

Edexcel A-level Accounting

The Edexcel A Level in Accounting is the natural progression after the IGCSE and provides students with an in-depth understanding of financial statements and accounting processes. Successful completion of the program paves the way for studies at top universities and a career in accounting, while awarding full UCAS points, like all A Level qualifications.
